Cutie

Micali's hair is getting so long. I decided to try it in real pigtails. Here is how it turned out but this didn't last to long.

A little scare.....

Luke had a quick project planned for Saturday morning. He did as much as he could Friday night and after a quick trip to the Home Depot in the morning we were going to have water and ice hooked up to our refrigerator. Waking up to another 4 inches of snow in the morning didn't help much but he and Micali braved the elements, at 7:00in the morning, and came home quickly with the part. All started out just the way we planned it. Well my muscle man turned the pipe a little to tight and broke the weld (not the right word for the copper piping but that word has slipped my mind) and water went spraying out all over the kitchen and pouring into the basement. He luckily knew where the turn off was and I had luckily filled the closet full of towels the night before. I started mopping up water and he got the water turned off pretty quickly. Now what?? Well I will give you the short version. After 5 trips to home depot, a new sink, garbage disposal, a faucet, and all new piping, we were able to get a drink of water out of our refrigerator door before we went to bed at 10:30 !! Sweet!
All the new stuff wasn't necessary because of the flood but since he was down under the sink replacing stuff we decided to do it the right way.
Here are some pictures to show the adventure that took ALL of our Saturday.

Four years of Married Bliss!!

I can't believe it has been four years since we got married. Although I can't even remember what life was like before. We have definitely packed a lot of fun and adventure into these four years. We started off getting married on the same day that we graduated from BYU-Idaho. We then traveled to California for summer job. A few months later we made our way to Tyonek, Alaska and enjoyed a year of teaching there together. It was a great experience and being so far from anything familiar really helped us learn to depend fully on one another. After a year there and a cruise to the Caribbean we settled down to teaching jobs on the "road system." At the end of that teaching year we bought a FIXER UPPER house and turned it into a beautiful home. That is when Micali joined our family and we began learning all about parenthood. Thank goodness for such a patient little girl. During this time Luke worked on his Master's Degree and I slept(not the whole time). That brings us pretty much up to date. Now we have two little ones and another house to fix up so we are staying busy and definitely never have a dull moment. I have been so blessed!!

Eli Three Months

Micali 21 months!

Not just a point and shoot....

I have had so much fun with my camera the last couple of days. My friend brought over a new lens for me to practice with. She showed me how to manually adjust the light coming in so I didn't have to always use the flash. I knew we had a good camera that could take good pictures but didn't know how good until this week. I am excited to learn more!!! It was perfect timing with Eli turning 3 months yesterday and Micali 21 months today. I took 191 pictures but I will pick out only a couple of my favorites to share for now!

I am so glad when daddy comes home!

Micali eagerly awaits the arrival of her daddy each afternoon. The past few days she has been waiting outside for him. On Thursday he humored her by taking a little walk in the snow. He is such a good dad. I am grateful that he always puts his family above all the other demands on his time. We have enjoyed being able to have more of his time in the evenings since he finished his Masters Degree a few weeks ago!

Nearly 3 months old.

Eli doesn't make it easy to catch a grin. I finally did this morning.

Micali did the baby line up this morning and then decided to join them. She is such a good big sister. When Eli starts crying she goes over to him and puts her finger to her lips and says shhh, shhh.

Eli just relaxing after his bath. He really loves his bath and it seems to calm him well before we put him to bed.

Spring Fever

Micali is ready to be outside. Friday afternoon I dressed her warm and let her play outside while she was waiting for daddy to come home. We even took out her lawn chair. She absolutely loved being out there and even after an hour and frozen fingers we still had a little struggle when we told her it was time to go inside.

Are you kidding me?

This picture is mostly for me so that next year after the snow has mostly melted I won't get my hopes up and remember that it could still snow in the middle of April! I was slightly disappointed to wake up and see all of this snow. Our yard was mostly snow free except a few mounds and Micali was enjoying being outside. I am sure this snow won't last long, and soon I will be back out on the streets jogging.

Slumber Party

TIred Boys!

This was the scene when Micali and I came in from running some quick errands between conference sessions. Eli had a 102 fever lastnight so Luke stayed up with him for awhile then he ended up sleeping in our bed so we could make sure he was okay. Luke convinced me he needed a little nap so we had a girls bonding time and boys bonding time. I think he got the better end of deal!!!

All Ready for Bed!

Micali was such a sweet girl tonight while I was busy with Eli. She was happy to help with anything I would let her do. She is getting used to sharing my attention and usually is nice to her little brother. She really loves giving him kisses. She learned how to "pound it" (like giving someone a high-five but with your fist....) so since Eli hasn't opened up his hands much yet Micali always thinks he wants to pound it. She will go up to him and do it all the time. It is so cute.

Success!!!

We did it! Our bed is officially baby free. We decided Monday would be our night to start Eli in his own bed. We went through the bedtime routine, gave him a bath, fed him and rocked him. He was way worn out by the time we got him in his bed and was totally asleep. I was thinking wow this is nice! That only lasted for 15 minutes though. Then the HARD part started. He cried and cried and cried. Luke went in and burped him and put him back down then he cried some more. The crying started at 7:15 and didn't end until 11:45. I even went in and fed him at 9:00 but as soon as I finished he was back at it. The nice part was at 11:45 he was so worn out he couldn't help but sleep after his tummy was full again. He slept until 5:00 and then again until 8:00. Lastnight he made it much easier on us. He went right to sleep, woke up with a little burp about an hour later and then slept clear until midnight and five. It was so nice to have him sleep for 5 hour stretches. Let's hope he can stick with it tonight!
