Luke had a quick project planned for Saturday morning. He did as much as he could Friday night and after a quick trip to the Home Depot in the morning we were going to have water and ice hooked up to our refrigerator. Waking up to another 4 inches of snow in the morning didn't help much but he and Micali braved the elements, at 7:00in the morning, and came home quickly with the part. All started out just the way we planned it. Well my muscle man turned the pipe a little to tight and broke the weld (not the right word for the copper piping but that word has slipped my mind) and water went spraying out all over the kitchen and pouring into the basement. He luckily knew where the turn off was and I had luckily filled the closet full of towels the night before. I started mopping up water and he got the water turned off pretty quickly. Now what?? Well I will give you the short version. After 5 trips to home depot, a new sink, garbage disposal, a faucet, and all new piping, we were able to get a drink of water out of our refrigerator door before we went to bed at 10:30 !! Sweet!
All the new stuff wasn't necessary because of the flood but since he was down under the sink replacing stuff we decided to do it the right way.
Here are some pictures to show the adventure that took ALL of our Saturday.

Must have been a pretty weak soldering job if Luke could break it. :-)
I wish I would have known that's what it takes to get a new sink & Disposal...I would have tried that trick a long time ago (he he). You did the right thing, if you're going to do it, do it right! That whole house will be amazing if you are fixing stuff at that rate!!!

-Who are the dumb people that sold you that house anyway???
Just kidding!
ps The kitchen repairs look great!
Oh my! You guys were busy bees on Saturday. You guys will have that house styling in no time.
Anytime, anytime he wants to fix stuff over here in lightening speed we'll take him. A man of many skills is right!
Luke......you da man!!! You still amaze me.....nice job.
Luke I will give you one of life's best lessons. At all times have a selection of "sharkbite" fittings on hands. These things are the best. Not to mention it would have saved you from having to do all of that other work! Lesson #2 always turn the water off before working on the water line :). So, how fast can you run to the water valve?
