A wonderful invention

IMG_7777

This has been what my countertop often looked like during the day. Either clean dishes on one side or dirty dishes on the other. For 9 months now we have washed dishes by hand. It takes a lot of time, which is something I don’t have a lot of—especially all at once. I would start washing dishes and then somebody would need me so, I would get back and have a sink of cold water and still dirty dishes.

Well, Friday our dryer broke. So I started looking on Craigslist to see if anyone nearby was selling one. I didn’t find a dryer but I did see this listing for a portable dishwasher. A full size dishwasher that just connects to the kitchen sink! GENIUS! So, Luke and I got a babysitter on Saturday and went to check this thing out. It was very nice looking just as advertised. So far it is working like a charm and I have had clear countertops! I love it.

Spring Break 2010

We had a great Spring Break and were excited to have Daddy for the whole week. The kids loved all of the playtime and wrestling from him. Here are a some pictures of our adventures.

IMG_7679I was in the back room and heard Micali saying, “help, help me” in a quiet little voice. I walked into her bedroom and then back out to find where she could be.

IMG_7677 Then she started talking again and I realized she really was in her room. She had closed herself in Abigail’s little floor mat. She looked so cute peaking out like a little clam.

Micali and I had a special date to the beauty salon to get our haircut. Micali was so excited but kind of got scared once we got there. She had me go first and then decided it didn’t seem so bad.

After we got home from our special date we loaded up and headed back down to Moab to enjoy some more nice weather. We found a new musical park and then went back to the park from last week.IMG_7716 IMG_7720 IMG_7719 IMG_7721 IMG_7723

Friday and Saturday the weather kind of changed here a bit and got cold and snowy, but I forgot that when I suggested to Micali to ask Daddy if he would build a fire for her to roast marshmallows on. Being the good Daddy he is, he wasn’t about to break his little girl’s heart so he ventured out there and enjoyed a few marshmallows with them.

Once there was a snowman…..tall, tall, tall…now he is melted SMALL, SMALL, SMALL

IMG_7684

This was the first try. It didn’t work very well. Micali knocked it over while she was trying to even things out.

At last Micali and Daddy’s first full size snowman. The snow hasn’t been to cooperative here. It never wants to pack. Now that it has melted a lot it was much more easy to pack but very heavy.

These pictures were taken on Tuesday and today most of this snow in the backyard is gone. We have had some nice warm days that have made the snow melt fast! Micali was sad that her snowman died. She checked on its progress everyday and was sad to see it go.

St. Patrick’s Day

IMG_7704

IMG_7706 I decided to spice breakfast up a little and turned our breakfast burrito filling green. It wasn’t a good idea. By the time I finished making it I had lost my appetite. Evidently some things just shouldn’t be green. Luke agreed. Next year for our green meal we will stick with eating things that were originally green.

IMG_7712 I found this recipe for fruit jello cookies to make shamrocks. Micali and I had a lot of fun making these while Daddy was at his college class. The lime taste of the cookie was actually pretty tasty!

I had never been one to “celebrate” St. Patrick’s day but since 2004 when Luke took me out to dinner for the special occasion---because according to him “everybody celebrates St. Patrick’s day” and then later totally surprised me by asking me to marry him. Now, it has been a special day and one we like to remember and do something special for.

Today at church Abigail received her name and blessing from her Daddy. Her Grandpa Peless, Great Uncle Steve, Uncle Kevin, and friend Lee Chadwick also participated in standing in the circle.

We were sad that Grandpa Kueser and family couldn’t be here but because of the HUGE rockslide that has closed Interstate-70 they weren’t able to come. I promised my dad I would take some pictures of his beautiful granddaughter to share with him.

We also took pictures with the family but those pictures are on Uncle Steve’s camera so we will have to post more of those later.

I love my little Abigail and am so grateful for such a sweet and easy- going little girl.
